Social Interactions for a Sustainable Lifestyle
A study conducted by Angela Fontan PhD et al. in collaboration with KTH Live-In Lab explores digital technology in smart homes and its relation to sustainable living.
The paper ”Social interactions for a sustainable lifestyle: The design of an experimental case study” explores the impact of social influence on lifestyle choices related to sustainability. Outlining a longitudinal experimental study of the behaviors of residents at KTH Live-In Lab, the paper proposes a definition of sustainability indicators for environmentally significant behaviors. Furthermore, the paper hypothesizes that by transforming a household into a digital social network of interacting tenants, sustainable living can be actively promoted.
